Strand was a collaborative installation I did with fellow artist Ian Henderson. The show encompassed a large space, transformed to a black box, with sculpture and installation filling the entire space. My work was illuminated against the black as a series of twelve silver thread cylinders, standing from floor to ceiling (13' high 6" in diameter). These silver towers glowed, creating surreal shafts of light. Interlaced throughout the silver cylinders, strung up methodically from taut silver thread where the silver sculptures of Ian Henderson. I also had small scale sculpture works interlaced throughout the installation. This show was put up at "The Space", an alternative art space in Jamaica Plain, MA run by Ken Micheals, in 2011.
Ian Henderson, strung up sculpture.
Ian Henderson, Silver sculpture encapulated in the only black thread cylinder.
